Client: Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE)

Brief: Help the AWE to test and train key staff in how to respond to the media during a crisis

Develop a strategy and communications plan that is appropriate for their needs

Provide the necessary media interview skills necessary to protect the client’s reputation in a crisis

Designate a dedicated team to support the client on site to help manage communications activities and messaging during a crisis

Activities: Planning and review sessions that included media interview skills and messaging workshops to create and refine a proprietary crisis preparedness and communications plan

Conduct a thorough attitude survey to discover what the myriad stakeholders (inside and outside) thought about the AWE, concerns and communication they had about its activities

Results: Formulating a comprehensive crisis plan, and training and testing the programme that was reviewed and updated on a regular basis with the client
